Nieuw Voorzitter en Vice-Voorzitter CIGRE Nederland

Beste Leden van CIGRE Nederland,

Graag informeer ik jullie over enkele wisselingen in het Dagelijks Bestuur van CIGRE Nederland alsmede een wisseling in het Nederlands Nationaal Comité.

Vertrek voorzitter Wessel Bakker

Korte tijd geleden heeft Wessel Bakker aangegeven te stoppen als voorzitter van CIGRE Nederland. In de afgelopen 10 jaar heeft hij zich in deze rol ingezet voor de stichting en in het bijzonder voor de kennisontwikkeling en – deling met en tussen de aan CIGRE verbonden professionals, bedrijven en instituten in Nederland en daarbuiten. Jonge professionals en vrouwelijk leiderschap lagen Wessel na aan het hart, wat ook blijkt uit de integratie van NGN- en WiE-professionals in bestuursfuncties in het Nederlandse NC. Hij – en wij – zijn trots op wat is bereikt met een sterk bestuursteam, studiecie voorzitters, NNC leden en werkgroepen.

We zijn hem zeer erkentelijk en dankbaar daarvoor en respecteren natuurlijk zijn besluit.

In de vergadering van het Nederlands Nationaal Comité (NNC) op 17 januari jongstleden is gesproken over de invulling van de functies binnen het Dagelijks Bestuur (DB).

Nieuwe voorzitter en vicevoorzitter

We zijn verheugd te kunnen melden dat Diana van den Heuvel, onze huidige vicevoorzitter, per 1 maart 2024 de voorzittershamer overneemt. Diana is sinds eind 2018 lid van het DB en heeft mede de basis gelegd voor meer internationale samenwerking van CIGRE Nederland met andere Nationale Comités van bijvoorbeeld België en het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Ook binnen het WiE-netwerk is zij zeer actief.

Tevens zijn we blij te kunnen melden dat het NNC heeft ingestemd met het toetreden van Stefan Evers tot het DB in de rol van vicevoorzitter; ook per 1 maart. Stefan is operationeel leidinggevende bij DNV en verantwoordelijk voor Power Grids in Nederland en de rest van Noord Europa. Hij is sinds 2007 werkzaam bij DNV en beschikt over ruime ervaring in managen van kennisintensieve organisaties, diensten en innovaties in de energiesector.

Tijdens de Hollandse Avond in Parijs op 26 augustus is er gelegenheid om Wessel de hand te drukken en tevens met Stefan Evers kennis te maken.

Wisseling in het NNC

Met instemming van het NNC heeft Prof. Dr. Peter Palensky (TU Delft) per 17 januari zijn positie in het NNC overgedragen aan Prof. Dr. Ir. Marjan Popov. We bedanken Peter zeer voor zijn inzet voor CIGRE en haar activiteiten alsmede scherpe visie, energieke opbouwende bijdrage en goede gevoel voor humor.

Marjan heten wij uiteraard van harte welkom. Hij is Hoogleraar aan de TU Delft op het vakgebied Protection of Sustainable Electrical Power Systems. Zijn kennis en inzichten bieden een goede aanvulling binnen het NNC. We zien dan ook uit naar een plezierige samenwerking.

Aan de slag met het CIGRE Strategic Plan – Horizon 2030

Met het vernieuwde bestuursteam gaan we aan de slag met de implementatie van het CIGRE Strategisch Plan – editie 2023 – met een horizon tot 2030. Naast het power system krijgen ook aanpalende ontwikkelingen als zon, wind,  waterstof en nucleair meer focus. Dit willen we in CIGRE Nederland op gaan pakken, o.a. door het organiseren van symposia/events op dit vlak.

Verder is in het CIGRE beleid expliciet aandacht voor het verkrijgen van meer diversiteit en verjonging in NGN en de gehele organisatie.

Daarnaast werkt het bestuur verder aan verdere versteviging van de financiële basis, wat tijd vergt maar wel nodig is om onze doelen ook in de toekomst te kunnen blijven verwezenlijken.

Dit alles kan alleen dankzij de support en grote betrokkenheid bij CIGRE Nederland van onze (collectieve) leden en sponsoren. Dat maakt dat we het goede werk kunnen doen. Het nieuwe bestuur hoopt van harte dat we ook de komende jaren op alle schouders mogen blijven steunen.

Themadag B5 PAC met IMPACT – Protection, & Automation & Control

Op donderdag 14 april, tijdens de LIVE CIGRE B5 themadag, bespraken we samen met meer dan 70 energieprofessionals het thema “PAC met IMPACT’ dat ging hoe we de kennis over PAC (Protection, Automation & Control) borgen, optimaal gebruiken en toepassen.

Onder leiding van dagvoorzitter Frank Baldinger werden er inzichten gedeeld over de integrale infrastructuurverkenning II3050, hoe mensen en innovaties de energietransitie kunnen versnellen en hoe een defensie leverancier  de informatietechnologie uitdaging van de toekomst aanpakt. De keynote presentaties werden gegeven door: 

  • Arjan van Voorden | Stedin Netbeheer
  • Martha van den Hengel | Alliander
  • Rene van Hees | Thales

Dat het onderwerp zeer actueel is bleek wel uit de interessante gesprekken en interacties tijdens de workshops van Enexis, Qirion, Siemens, Stedin Netbeheer en TenneT.

CIGRE Future Grid Acceleration – 8 of March 2022

On Tuesday 8 of March we discussed together with Timo Kiiveri (Fingrid), Daan Schut (Alliander), Andreas Lukaschik and Christoph Kandlbinder-Paret (TenneT TSO GmbH) and our moderator Peter Palensky (TU Delft) the opportunities and challenges that arise with the transformation to a future proof grid.

Next Generation Showcase 2022

The CIGRE Paris Session is one of the main international events in the electric power industry, bringing worldwide experts together to discuss the challenges and future of the industry. The next CIGRE Paris session will be held in August 2022. The Next Generation Network (NGN) Showcase is a great opportunity for students and young professionals to attend this event, present their work to leading experts from all around the world, and expand their professional network.

Selected candidates will receive the following:

  • 10-minute presentation slot at discussion session in Paris, for the respective Study Committee
  • Space at the poster session in Paris, for the respective Study Committee
  • Paper published and included in the 2022 Paris Session Proceedings
  • Free 2022 Paris Session Registration for the entire event
  • Support from CIGRE Netherlands for travel/accommodation costs, if applicable

Wat houdt het in?

Als voorzitter van een Nationaal Studie Comite (NSC) CIGRE C3 heb je een aantal taken in nationaal verband en een aantal taken in internationaal verband. In Nederland gaat het om het deelnemen aan de vergaderingen met de andere NSC-voorzitters, het leiden van de vergaderingen van het NSC C3 en natuurlijk het jaarlijks organiseren van een themadag / workshop. Verder wordt je soms uitgenodigd voor activiteiten van Next Generation Network (bijvoorbeeld een match-making event).

Internationaal ben je de vertegenwoordiger van Nederland in het internationale studiecomité C3. Dit betekent dat je deelneemt aan de jaarlijkse vergaderingen en daar de Nederlandse inbrengen en belangen vertegenwoordigd, dat je zorgt voor vertegenwoordiging van Nederland in de internationale werkgroepen, dat stukken die geschreven gereviewed worden, etc.

Hoeveel tijd kost het?

Per jaar ben je zo’n 2 tot 3 weken tijd kwijt aan het voorzitterschap van NSC C3. Ieder jaar is er een serie vergaderingen, gekoppeld aan een colloquium, wat je ongeveer een week kost. Verder ben je betrokken bij de organisatie van een (tweejaarlijks) themadag in Nederland en heb je een aantal vergaderingen met het NSC en met andere NSC-voorzitters. Ook dit kost ongeveer een week per jaar. Daarnaast zijn er nog andere, kleinere, dingen, zoals het regelen van deelnemers aan internationale werkgroepen, etc.

Wat is het profiel?

Van belang is dat je een goed overzicht hebt van het vakgebied en dat je er gedegen kennis van hebt. CIGRE C3 gaat over de drie P’s van duurzaamheid: people, planet, profit.  

Het studiecomité heeft 2 hoofdtaken: 1) het vaststellen en beoordelen van de invloed van elektriciteitssystemen op het milieu en de omgeving en 2) het doen van aanbevelingen over maatregelen om de genoemde invloed te beheersen.
Het begrip invloed op omgeving wordt breed geïnterpreteerd: het betreft zowel fysieke invloed als de sociale aspecten ervan. Onderwerpen zijn onder meer broeikasgassen (bv SF6 gebruik), verontreiniging bodem en water, EM-velden, geluid(hinder), visuele aspecten, invloed op flora en fauna, maar ook stakeholder engagement, publieke acceptatie.

De scope betreft 3 technische richtingen: 1) Asset management en milieu/omgeving  2) Algemene milieu ontwikkelingen en energiebedrijven en 3) Stakeholder engagement en publieke acceptatie.

Verder is het een pré als je al ervaring hebt met (deelname aan) internationale C3 werkgroepen. Tot slot is het goed te beseffen dat je als voorzitter het belang van Nederland vertegenwoordigt en niet dat van je eigen werkgever.

Next Generation Showcase 2021

The CIGRE Paris Session is one of the main international events in the power industry, bringing worldwide experts together to discuss about the power industry’s future. The CIGRE Centennial Paris Session, celebrating 100 years of collaboration, will be held in August 2021 in Paris.

The Next Generation Network (NGN) Showcase is a great opportunity for students and young professionals to present their work to leading experts from all around the world. The selected candidates from the Netherlands will have the chance to be a part of the Showcase event, as well as receive free tickets for the entire conference and support for transport and accommodation.

The CIGRE NGN Netherlands is happy to invite NGN NL members to prepare and submit their abstracts of proposed presentations for the upcoming CIGRE 2021 Session to the young@cigre.nl, by 11th of January 2021.

Topics for abstracts/presentations need to align with one of the 16 CIGRE Study Committees. Abstracts will be scored on technical content, relevance to the selected Study Committee, and presentation of the material (structure, figures, etc.).

The candidates are asked to provide the following documents and information:

  • Synopsys (abstract), explaining your research briefly, based on the template from this link
  • Presentation, based on the template from this link
  • Your name, age, university/faculty or company position, and contact information

The candidates do not need to submit a full paper for this event, this is for a showcase of presentations only. Furthermore, the research should be novel and not already published elsewhere.
