How can I apply?
Become a member of Next Generation Network to fill in your information on Registreren. 

Why join?
If you are an entry level professional or student currently pursuing a qualification in the field of energy, Next Generation Network (former called Young CIGRE) offers you the chance to develop yourself further, build your professional network and to obtain ‘state of the art’ knowledge. Moreover, there are opportunities to present your own (research) work, to participate in Stichting CIGRE Nederland theme days and to visit the bi-annually CIGRE Session in Paris, together with all other benefits the Next Generation Network (NGN) membership offers you.

Who can apply for a membership?
Students and graduates based in the Netherlands can apply to become a NGN Netherlands Member. If you are a full-time student (including the full-time PhDs), you should apply to be a Student Member of CIGRE.

If you are an entry level professional in industry and academia, a part-time MSc student currently working in industry or part-time PhD student, then you should apply to be a non-Student Member.

Membership rules?
Student: If you are in full time education on a recognised and relevant Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate course that has a total duration of more than 12 months and has at least 6 months remaining at the time of application.

  • There are no minimum or maximum age requirements and Student Membership continues throughout the duration of the full-time education course.
  • Once your course is completed, you can transfer to being a non-Student Member of the NGN, subject to eligibility checks.
  • Only university/institution EMAIL-IDs are allowed during registration.
    As part of the process of becoming a Student NGN Member, we will register you as a Student Member of CIGRÉ (which includes receiving a CIGRÉ number). Student membership is free.

Non-Student: Is available for early/entry level professionals in industry and academia, who have graduated with an appropriate qualification within the last five years. The membership is available for the young professionals under the age of 35.

  • As part of the process of becoming a Student NGN Member, we will register you as a Student Member of CIGRÉ (which includes receiving a CIGRÉ number). Student membership is free. As part of the process of becoming a non-Student NGN Member, we will register you as an Individual Member of CIGRÉ (which includes receiving a CIGRÉ number). The membership is free for 2 years.
  • After the 2 years, the member will be automatically transferred to paid membership that costs 106,15 Euro annually. The member will be notified during the transition phase by the Dutch National committee.
  • Stichting CIGRE Nederland collects the contribution on behalf of CIGRE International and transfers it immediately after receipt. Collective membership is available for companies and universities. For more information, please contact secretariaat@CIGRE.nl.
