C3 Power system environmental performance
Scope: Three technical directions have been defined:
- Asset management and environment/surroundings
- General environmental developments and energy companies
- Stakeholder engagement and public acceptance
The Study Committee has two main tasks: to identify and assess the impact of electricity systems on the environment and surroundings and to make recommendations on measures to manage the impact.
The concept of ‘influence on the surroundings’ is interpreted broadly: it covers both the physical influence and its social aspects. Subjects include greenhouse gases (e.g. SF6 use), soil and water pollution, EM fields, noise (nuisance), visual aspects, impact on flora and fauna, but also stakeholder engagement and public acceptance. In other words: the three Ps of sustainability: people, planet and profit.
If you would like more information, or might be interested in playing an active role in the Study Committee, please contact the Chair of the Study Committee.
